Welcome to our Employee Spotlight series, where we shine a light on the incredible individuals who make iCoupon the dynamic and innovative company it is. This time, we’re featuring Kennedy, one of our talented Test Analysts, who plays a key role in our Operations & Support team.
Born in Nigeria, he spent his teenage years in Dublin before moving to Manchester three and a half years ago. Before venturing into the world of technology, Kennedy honed his skills in the kitchen as a chef. His first step into the tech industry came in 2022 when he joined a company in Marple. Then, in April last year, we were lucky enough to have him join iCoupon, where he has been making waves ever since, especially with his style!
Let’s get to know him a bit better:
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I enjoy staying active by going to the gym, swimming, and playing squash, which are part of my weekly routine. I also love watching sports or diving into some online gaming. Another passion of mine is fishing, although the current weather in the UK has kept me from it. Hopefully when the weather gets better and it’s not so cold outside, I’d love to get my rollerblades out again!
What advice would you give to someone starting out in your field?
Show interest and ask questions—no question is actually stupid. Staying curious and eager to learn goes a long way so don’t be scared to ask.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
That I go fishing! It’s a great way to unwind and connect with nature but not many people expect it to be one of my favourite things to do.
Do you have a favourite quote or motto that you live by?
Yes, “If it is to be, then it is up to me.” It reminds me to keep making things happen.
What’s your favourite book, movie, or TV show?
I’m a big fan of the Dan Brown series, but The Other Hand is probably my favourite book, with Angels and Demons coming in a close second. Choosing a favourite TV show is tough! A recent favourite is Cross on Amazon Prime.
What do you appreciate most about your team members?
My team is super helpful and supportive. Everyone is always willing to lend a hand, which makes a huge difference and creates a nice environment to work in.
What’s your go-to productivity hack?
ChatGPT! Gotta love it. It’s been a game-changer for streamlining tasks and staying on track.
If you could switch jobs with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
Adam, our Presales Director! He travels quite often, and I absolutely love traveling. Experiencing his role for a day would be pretty cool.
