The person accessing the Website (or otherwise interacting with us whether physically or electronically) whose personal data IGL collects is referred to in this Privacy Policy as You (and the pronouns your and yours bear a corresponding meaning).

You agree that this Privacy Policy governs the collection, processing, retention and/or transmission by IGL of any personal data that you submit to IGL via the Website or by any other means, and you hereby expressly give your informed consent to IGL’s collection, processing, retention and/or transmission of your personal data provided that this is in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you should stop using the Website or otherwise contacting us (other than to request the deletion of your personal data by following the guidance below).

There is legal uncertainty in some jurisdictions about whether contact information submitted by an employee, worker, or contractor in the context of business transactions or communications constitutes personal data for the purposes of data protection and privacy laws. IGL reserves its position on this issue but, under the terms of this Privacy Policy, treats such data as personal data and collects, processes, and uses such data as if it were subject to such data protection and privacy laws.

Your rights to get details of your personal data held by IGL, or to require IGL to rectify or delete your personal data, are available to you irrespective of whether or not the jurisdiction in which you are based grants such rights (i.e. IGL will honour any such requests as if you were a British citizen).

In this Privacy Policy, the expressions personal data and personal information are synonymous and should be construed in accordance with the definition of personal data set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679)

2 IGL and the collection of your Personal Data
IGL collects personal information about you that you submit to us, either by completing a Form on the Website, emailing or writing to a member of IGL’s staff, or by passing your details to a representative of IGL in person at sales or other events. IGL may also receive your personal data in the context of a referral from a third party that you have requested

The personal data that IGL collects may include name, work address, phone numbers (mobile/cell and landline), work email, salutation, job title and any qualifications that appear on your communications to us (e.g. MA, BA, MSc etc). IGL does not collect any sensitive personal data.

In addition, when you access the Website, certain automated applications may collect certain information such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you visit the Website, or other technical information.

IGL may also collect information through cookies and similar technologies. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Website, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. IGL may therefore collect:

Log and usage data including diagnostic, usage, and performance information IGL’s servers automatically collect when you access or use the Website, and which is recorded in log files. Depending on how you interact with the Website, this log data may include your IP address, device information, browser type, and settings and information about your activity on the Website (such as the date/time stamps associated with your usage, pages and files viewed, searches, and other actions you take such as which features you use), device event information (such as system activity, error reports (sometimes called ‘crash dumps’), and hardware settings).

Information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other device you use to access the Website. Depending on the device used, this device data may include information such as your IP address (or proxy server) device and application identification numbers, location, browser type, hardware model, Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, operating system, and system configuration information.

Information about your device’s location, which can be either precise or imprecise. How much information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device you use to access the Services. For example, IGL may use GPS and other technologies to collect geolocation data that reveals your current location (based on your IP address). You can opt out of allowing IGL to collect this information either by refusing access to the information or by disabling your Location setting on your device. However, if you choose to opt out, you may not be able to use certain functionality on the Website.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (DNT) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised. As such, IGL does not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that IGL should follow in the future, this will be updated in a revised version of this Privacy Policy.

3 Using your Personal Data
IGL uses your personal data primarily to respond to requests from you for information, or to send you information about our Services, our network partners, and events as part of IGL’s general marketing communications. If you wish to stop receiving marketing communications, you can unsubscribe or alter your preferences via the “unsubscribe” link in such communications at any time.

4 Sharing or transferring your Personal Data with third parties.
IGL does not sell or distribute your personal data to third parties unless you have specifically requested this in the context of services provided by one of IGL partner organisations, suppliers, or customers.

IGL may disclose or transfer your personal data to a third party in the context of a third-party investment in IGL, a sale or flotation of IGL on any recognised stock exchange, or a transfer of IGL’s business to a third-party successor.

In certain limited circumstances mandated by law, in legal proceedings, or subject to a valid court order, we may disclose your personal data to a court or other legal or regulatory authority. This may include disclosure in order to protect the vital interests of you or a third party (for example situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person).

5 Retaining and protecting your personal data.
IGL retains your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).

In most circumstances IGL will delete or anonymise your personal information as soon as practicable following a request from you to do so, or once it is no longer necessary to retain it for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. If deletion or anonymisation is technically impractical because, for example, your personal information has been stored in backup archives, then IGL will securely store and isolate it from any further processing until deletion becomes practical.

IGL has adopted, and maintains, appropriate and reasonable technical and organisational security measures designed to protect the security of personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure and IGL cannot guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorised third parties will not be able to defeat those measures.
